Ti.Mortar - titanium alloy Mortar

Titanium alloy advantages, for example, a parameters for the 81/82mm mortar:

1. Titanium alloy allows enhance a mortar resource theoretically up to more than 15 000+ shots. Mortar resource will increase up to 2 times. Firing range will increase in two times due to the enhanced normal working pressure up to 75—92 MPa.

2. Titanium is resistant to corrosion under any chemical or weather factors impact. Corrosion is possible when the device is heated to the temperature up to 500 degrees Celsius, which is not permissible for weapon.

3. Resistant to the barrel firing overheating.

4. Weight reduction of the titanium products by 40%.

5. Capability to operate at the higher temperature of the barrel (up to 385C) without changes tactic parameters.

6. Indefinite shelf life in the storage's in case of war.

7. Compatibility with earlier produced systems (BM37, BM43, 2B14) with possible spare part replacement in the mortar complex.

8. Suitable for all NATO standard, hi range and precise ammunition.

A lightweight weapon, which can be easily deployed. The base plate is star shaped with rotating socket in the center and three sets of ribs and spades which provide all round traverse without movement of the plate and ensures equipment stability in all types of ground conditions. The mount is provided with buffer assembly, cross leveling device and elevating and traversing gears.

  • Total Wt. of the Equipment without sight and accessories - 26.85 Kg.

  • Total Wt. of the Barrel (with Breech Block) - 9.2+2.1=11.3 Kg.

  • Total Wt. of the Mount - 7,5 Kg.

  • Total Wt. of the Base Plate - 7,1 Kg.

  • Total Wt. of the sight heavy Mortar Cased IC - 2,5 Kg.

  • Total Wt. of the sight without the case - 0.95 Kg. optical sight, 0.45 Kg. electronic sight

  • Length of the Barrel with Breech Block - 1650 mm.

  • Caliber of Barrel - H.81.44 mm/ L 81.40 mm

  • Elevation limits - 32 d to 87 d (or 533 mils to 1511 mils)

  • Traverse (right or left)

  • By moving the Bipod - 360 degree

  • Without moving the Bipod - 6 ° to 20°

  • Height :

  • For loading in unprepared position of Base plate at 45° Elevation – 49.5”, at 85° Elevation – 68.3”

  • For loading in prepared position of Base Plate at 45° Elevation – 45”

  • Striker Protrusion - L 1.5. mm, H 1.8 mm

  • Recoil Absorbing arrangement by Shock absorbers, (i.e. the mechanical spring type with two guide Rods / tubes forms an elastic link between the Barrel and the bipod)

  • Detachment - 3 men

  • 4 men for more fast shooting

It is two times lower weights compare to the weapon in old Soviet 2B14 Podnos mortar and modern American weapon M252A1, the weight is lower by 5 kg. They are worldwide leaders.

The purchase cost of mortar complex with titanium barrel will be the same as for steel mortar. It gives a benefit to MOD. One titanium barrel will work instead of 2 steel ones.
